The Buffalo Gap Blowout Committee organizes the annual Buffalo Gap Blowout (Ranch Rodeo), Buffalo Gap Billbash (Bull Riding), Halloween Festivities, and other events that are consistent with the theme and culture of the town. The Buffalo Gap Cemetery is a private, non-perpetual care cemetery owned by the Buffalo Gap Cemetery Association. Incorporated in 1901, it is a non-profit organization in the state of South Dakota. The cemetery is located one mile south of the town in neighboring Fall River County. Plots are available to those who already have family interred and to those residents in Buffalo Gap who choose to spend their remaining years in this town. Contact Steve White for further assistance.
Feeding South Dakota serves over 10,000 families each month through 120 Mobile Food Distribution sites. Feeding South Dakota no longer provides food directly to those in Buffalo Gap via a mobile distribution center. Citizens can receive there allotted portion of food in the town of Hot Springs. The Storehouse mission is to serve people in Custer County by receiving and distributing donated food and household items with respect and compassion. The Storehouse provides food to those in Buffalo Gap the 3rd Saturday of every month at the Town Council Building (The Old Bank) located at 202 Main St. in Buffalo Gap.
